What is a Spiritual Treasure Hunt (STH)?

Formerly called a “shamanic journey,” a spiritual hunt is a physical trip to Egypt, guided by Maryam. She leads it with a combination of intuition and accumulated wisdom. What she decides beforehand is the location of each date, and everything else is determined on the spot.

Shamanic transformation is the goal of these hunts. Just as in any other intense shamanic service, the intention is kept open without constraints, other than the highest love-based result. Maryam explains it as a shamanic bubble the group is devoured into, where symbolism and universal language are enhanced with Sekhem energy. This bubble helps awaken the seeker to their unique soul path and blockages on the way, and, in turn, aiding their spontaneous transformation.

The work combines a variety of micro- and macro-facilitation, depending on the situation. This means Maryam might instruct you to tour freely somewhere with only a few points/hints in mind, and she might closely accompany you, asking you to place your feet somewhere with the exact angle and distance.

Although the set duration of spiritual touring/task for each day is initially determined, the actual spiritual lesson can hit at any time of the 24 hours of work—at lunch, in the bathroom, on a phone call, in bed, etc.

As per Maryam’s philosophy, she does not bother focus on specific rituals unless guided to, and she definitely does not do private entries, believing through experience that any such event occurs organically if truly called for.

The location of the journey is affected by the season due to weather restrictions:

November-March: Luxor only/South of the Nile Valley (Aswan to Dendara)/The whole Nile Valley (Abu Simbel to Alexandria)
April-October: Sinai (Nuweiba, Dahab & St. Catherine)
All year: Cairo/Cairo & Alexandria

What inspired it?

After Luxor had shown Maryam the extent of what happens when one leads themselves with openness through the land, she was inspired to create such journeys for others, where she’d lead them into Bliss, by navigating through both love and fear, using her intuition. She would have never expected the path that opened for her nor would she have imagined an initiation into an ancient modality of healing spontaneously. This is why she knows the universe keeps quite pleasant and HUGE surprises for those who follow its rules.

Why is it named so?

The name was inspired as Maryam reflected on the nature of the journeys and what they lead to. A STH is about having an adventure in search of something very valuable, which usually causes a person’s life change for the better. It is encompassed with a sense of adventure where danger is possible, yet the outcome is so precious that one cannot give up on seeking.

Maryam found this description fits her journeys like a glove and decided it explains a lot, helping seekers realize what it means to stay open to receive the best treasure possible for them.

What are its benefits?

Very simply, this can be summarized in the following points:

Identification of and removal of fears: As you go through the Hunt, you will encounter situations which are sometimes expected, usually not. You learn about your fears which sometimes did not think you had or haven’t realized how paralyzing they’ve been for you, to embody your most authentic self and living your dreams. Maryam will lead you with compassionate/tough-loving wisdom and intuition through them to where only love exists.
Knowing/refining soul’s path: As fears keep on being shed consciously and subconsciously, the chosen soul’s path will become clearer as you go. You will be led to use courage to say yes to it.
Understanding the language of the universe: This is about comprehending the level of continuous symbolism used in a person’s daily life that the universe speaks with. Through the Hunts, Maryam helps individuals notice and decode those. It becomes a skill to use in one’s everyday life afterwards.
Learning how to navigate life: Although no STH is the same as the other, they’re all conducted with the same set of rules and concepts. When a seeker has focused on their work during a STH, they leave realizing how the experience has mirrored real life, and they develop awareness and confidence in how to lead their own selves and lives thereon.

What are the requirements to join?

The Gateway session: Such a session is mandatory as an introduction for both parties. You would not want to invest in such deep spiritual work without getting a better sense of who and how your guide will be. And, from Maryam’s side, she needs to evaluate your fitting as a candidate for this daring journey. You do get every benefit from the Gateway session as a stand-alone, and it helps both parties decide if STH is suitable for you.
Courage & Trust: Once you’ve decided to join this service, you have put your trust in both the universe and Maryam to lead you. The mere idea that there is no detailed spiritual program to the logistical schedule is enough to make many people flip. As humans, we’ve been programmed to control the situation, thinking it provides safety and security. On STHs, security stops being the target, as no spiritual growth can come out of it. It’s like learning to swim or dive; one cannot do it unless they trust both the trainer and the water. It takes time and effort, but the outcome is a life changer.
Flexibility & Openness: Accordingly, being flexible and open to whatever comes are pillars for the STH to work. Without them, one would not benefit, and friction would appear on the path for the individual and/or group as a whole.
Endurance:
- Mental/Emotional: Growth comes with a different set of spontaneous triggers, depending on each person’s need. Without such endurance, one would crack from the first hour of the journey. You must have the resilience to face your fears and unpleasant current situation. This will help you learn to deal with the experience and to come out of it empowered and renewed, without projecting the issues being released on anything outside yourself.
- Physical: When it comes to physical ability, one is either fit, unfit or have negative beliefs about their physicality and stamina. Although these trips require the minimal amount of physical ability, being able to walk, sometimes for hours each day, the end design is left to Spirit.
  Sometimes, the Hunts are extra active; sometimes they aren’t. At other times, when a seeker thinks they need to rest, they will be challenged to discover how far they can go. Maryam has witnessed a seeker who went for 18 years thinking his knee was ruined, always wore knee support, depended on a crutch and never used the stairs. From Day 1 on his Hunt, he was guided to leave the crutch. Day 2, he decided he would take off his knee support. He reported, when he went back home, after only four days of work, that he now would go up a whole building using the stairs and no elevator. If the challenge is based on fear, it will be tested and healed if you let it.

Is this the same as an ayahuasca retreat?

Ayahuasca and other psychedelic plants work (1) because they are medicines created from Mother Earth, and (2) because ceremonies are led by seasoned shamans who communicate as needed with Spirit, facilitating the growth journey being undergone. Maryam does NOT use shamanic plants, but depends on the pure Sekhem energy she channels. She also utilizes the power spots of her motherland to help intensify the journey and maximize its potency.
The main difference between psychedelic plant retreats and this trip is that plant retreats ‘force’ the individual into surrendering for as long as the plant Spirit keeps working in their system. One finds themselves temporarily ‘losing control’ which, if they let it, allows the process to take place more easily. During a Spiritual Hunt, on the other hand, the seeker is lucid at all times, making their ability to open up and surrender to the process only possible by their active will.

What does the price include?

Because each individual or group is different, and because the season and location can change, the payment only includes the spiritual work. Accommodation and transportation estimates are determined as you finalize your booking with Maryam. You cannot choose your accommodation yourself as a whole vibration and setting is required for the journey. Maryam usually chooses very authentic and budget places with nice service to stay, to help focus on the spiritual work.

Are all the trips the same?

Not at all! Each trip date is unique, because no one moment is the same as the one before it. Also, Maryam, along with the group/individual seeker, ride the wave of the current cosmic/numerological events which influence the lessons to be learned at each STH. The rate is different per day per person, according to the number of days booked. A nonrefundable 70% is paid through the website, and the 30% is paid in cash USD at the start of the journey. All other expenses (accommodation/transportation/other…) are to be paid directly by you on the go. If Maryam is traveling especially with you, her transportation and accommodation expenses are to be added later in cash.
